BACKGROUND
Phillips Data, Inc. began in Anaheim, CA in December of 2000. The company started primarily as a web hosting and dial-up access company. Since its initial days the company has expanded into web application programming and domain registration. Through this, Phillips Data, Inc. has maintained web hosting as its key offering. Phillips Data, Inc. is a small, privately held, profitable, customer-centric corporation.
FROM THE OWNER
Small business often requires the ability to multi-task, to perform many different jobs throughout the course of a week. I must say, it is no different here. Owning a small business is challenging yet rewarding, and most certainly never dull. For those of you that know me, you know that I take a very hands-on approach. I enjoy solving problems, exceeding expectations, and creating value for people through that.
The idea for Phillips Data, Inc. started sometime after my dad brought home a used computer from West Bond, Inc. where he is now Vice President. It was my first computer and it was used, but I was excited, even if it was only a Pentium 166. I learned HTML, built a personal website, found a web hosting company, and put it online. That's all it took to spark an interest in creating Phillips Data, Inc. The drive to create is, I believe, deeply embedded in most people, and I'm fortunate enough to live in a country where this is possible. I wanted to create something I could enjoy, something I could do well, and most importantly, something I could use to create value for others.
I still have that Pentium 166 computer; it's in the closet in my office. It serves as a pleasant reminder that people, when given an opportunity, can take it and run with it and accomplish something great. The value we try everyday to create doesn't come without a price. Yet, it is a price we are committed to take on. Our success is dependent on the success of our clients, and so it only makes sense. Even so, it is still really neat to see our clients prosper, and know that we had a part in that, no matter how small.

OUR DATA CENTER
Phillips Data's servers and equipment are located in Tier 1 provider Level 3's, 90,000sf Tustin, CA data center. Phillips Data, Inc. owns all of its servers and equipment and leases only Level 3's infrastructure.
The data center features an HVAC controlled environment, keeping the temperature at a crisp 69-70 degrees Fahrenheit through raised floors, redundant power, a dry fire suppression system, overhead cabling, biometric security, and more.
Shared hosting servers are monitored 24/7, even on holidays and leap years. Services are polled every 60 seconds, from at least 2 locations, which notify our techs within minutes of any outages.
